LA Upstander: Michelle Lebron V.

Michelle has been an ally for LGBTQ friends at our school. She has shared how she offered support for a student who wanted to come out as gay. She demonstrates pride, confidence, and positive behaviors during Zoom sessions by always participating with her camera on, using her microphone to add energy to the group, and using the chat in support with her peers. She also promotes her own music and helps to normalize students who are proud of their own uniqueness and individuality.

Michelle has inspired other students with her confidence, entrepreneurship, and willingness to help others. Her peers have commented that Michelle’s confidence and entrepreneurship in putting her music on online platforms has inspired them. She also brings friends into clubs and promotes positive engagement on campus. Michelle stands out amongst her peers as a thoughtful youth and contributor to class on a daily basis who enjoys learning and being at school.
