Donor Spotlight: Lebovitz Family Charitable Trust

Since 2007 the Lebovitz Family Charitable Trust has helped combat bigotry and hate by supporting the expansion of Facing History's outreach.

The Facing History curriculum and its impact on both teachers and students is the most effective way we know to teach that each person needs to speak up and plays a key role in making sure the harsh outcomes in history aren’t repeated in the future.” – Alan Lebovitz

The Lebovitz Family Charitable Trust has been supporting Facing History & Ourselves since 2007. Their most recent gift helped Facing History grow and strengthen our New Communities Project, which expands our reach to educators, schools, and districts in the southern United States. Alan and his brother Stephen Lebovitz shared their thoughts on Facing History and why their family has continued to loyally and generously support our work:

Facing History is authentic in its use of history to engage and inspire learning experiences. Today this is more important than ever. We have seen firsthand through our kids' education how much teachers and students in Chattanooga get back from Facing History. Our local Facing History fellows and teachers change lives on a daily basis.

Seeing Facing History’s impact directly has inspired us to share Facing History with others. Joining the Facing History community will make your history teachers better teachers, and engage students to grow and mature.”

We are so grateful to the Lebovitz Family for being a vital part of our organization. The dedication and enthusiasm of our donors is vital to Facing History’s mission to combat bigotry and hate. Together we are helping more classrooms connect the lessons of history with the choices we face today.
