See DetailsOur newest English Language Arts collection, Borders and Belonging, highlights stories and counter-narratives that explore the complicated world of belonging and the tangible and intangible borders that can shape it. As students in grades 7 through 12 make their way through these resources, they consider their own ability to cultivate a sense of belonging for themselves and others and develop their capacity to participate fully in conversations across differences.

During this interactive online workshop, we will explore our modular collection, which includes text sets, learning experiences and unit planning tools to support thematic units on borders and belonging in middle and high school ELA classrooms.
Cost: There is a non-refundable $25 registration fee due once your application has been accepted. The $150 fee for this seminar has been waived thanks to generous funding from Facing History and Ourselves donors and partner organizations.
Certificate of Completion
At the conclusion of the event, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion for 3 hours of attendance. Certificates may be submitted for a school’s or district’s approval towards professional development credits. Requirements for professional development credits vary by state. It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure that they are meeting the requirements of their school, organization, and/or state.
