In Conversation: Exploring Identity and Antiracism in Education

As Black History Month comes to a close, we invite you to join us for an important conversation with Facing History and Ourselves and the New-York Historical Society on antiracist education: why it is essential to our practice as educators and the challenges and opportunities it presents to us and our communities.

Steven Becton, Chief Equity and Inclusion Officer for Facing History and Ourselves, whose work focuses educational equity in the historical context of race, will be in conversation with Dr. Zachary Casey, Associate Chair of Educational Studies at Rhodes College. Dr. Casey’s research specialty is anti racism. He speaks from the perspective of a white scholar and educator who engages in antiracist practices and pedagogy.

Participants will receive 1 CTLE hour. Please direct any questions about the event to

The workshop will be held via Zoom. Details for joining the Zoom meeting will be shared by email prior to the event.
